House Ways and Means Property Tax Ad Hoc Committee Reviewing State’s Property Tax System

The Georgia House Ways and Means Committee has created an ad-hoc committee to look at property taxes. The Committee is chaired by Representative Dale Washburn, who is also a REALTOR®. 

The primary objectives of the ad hoc committee is to look for additional options to increase tax transparency for Georgia residents, consider expanding revenue options for local governments and school boards, and review the assessment process.

The committee hopes to have several recommendations for the 2024 legislative session, which is scheduled to begin in January.
