Committees

Awards

This committee is responsible for the Annual Awards presented by the association including the award requirements and selection of the recipients. This includes the REALTOR of the Year, Affiliate of the Year, Good Neighbor, REALTOR Spirit, and Rookie of the Year, while also planning the Top Producers program which culminates with the Top Producers Awards Gala taking place during the first quarter of each year. The meeting schedule is heavily weighted to the first quarter of each year and then meetings are scheduled if needed through the remainder of the year.

Community Service

This committee is responsible for selecting projects, which will benefit a diverse section of the community. Each year the committee will review various opportunities to get involved in the community. Meetings are scheduled as needed throughout the year.

MLS

This committee is responsible for overseeing the complete operations of the Multiple Listing Service. Meetings are typically held on a monthly basis. This committee is open to all members of the MLS.

Programs & Events

This committee works with other committees to plan and host the association meetings along with planning general membership meetings throughout the year. The committee also determines sponsorship opportunities for the various meetings and events, and solicits sponsors for those activities. Meetings are scheduled as needed throughout the year.

RPAC

This committee reviews legislation and recommends political action to protect the interests of REALTORS®, our industry, and our clients. It helps shape the formulation of local laws and regulations through lobbying, grassroots advocacy, and supporting the election of pro-REALTOR® candidates for public office. This committee raises funds for the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) by hosting events throughout the year. Meetings are scheduled as needed throughout the year.

 

Statewide Professional Standards Cooperative

The Lake Country Board of REALTORS® is a member of the Statewide Professional Standards Cooperative established by the Georgia Association of REALTORS®.

Grievance

This committee reviews and investigates complaints against members as well as arbitration requests filed with the Board. When appropriate, it refers them to the Professional Standards Committee for a hearing.

In order to participate on this committee, you must: (1) have held REALTOR® membership for a minimum of three years; (2) attend a GAR approved Professional Standards training seminar; and (3) sign a confidentiality agreement.

Professional Standards

This committee encourages strict adherence to the REALTORS® Code of Ethics by all members. It conducts hearings on alleged violations of the Code of Ethics, commission disputes, and other matters referred by the Grievance Committee and/or the Board of Directors.

In order to participate on this committee, you must: (1) have held REALTOR® membership for a minimum of five years; (2) attend a GAR approved Professional Standards training seminar; and (3) sign a confidentiality agreement.
